I’ve only just found out about researchGATE.

researchGATE

It’s a social networking site for researchers. I can’t find that much information about it; I think it was only released earlier this year. I really like the idea of something like this, it’s a great way to talk to people in the field and initiate collaborations. However, I worry that it may become (or already be) specialised toward certain disciplines though, e.g. bio-append-buzzword-here-stuff, or whatever seems to be the latest hot topic. Perhaps I’ll join anyway though, seeing as the net already owns my soul 🙂
